Draft for owner review. This page was written to describe how FestivalPlot works today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Last updated October 25, 2026.
The short version
FestivalPlot has no accounts and does not upload the layouts you make. Your layouts stay on your device unless you choose to share a link or export a file.
What is stored on your device
The planner uses your browser’s local storage, which stays on your device, to keep:
festivalplot:current:v1: the layout you are working on, so it’s still there when you come back.festivalplot:library:v1: layouts you saved under “My layouts”.festivalplot:prefs:v1andfestivalplot:theme: small preferences such as grid snapping and light or dark theme.
FestivalPlot does not set advertising or tracking cookies.
Share links
A share link contains the layout itself, encoded after the “#” in the address. Browsers do not send that part of the address to the web server, so FestivalPlot does not receive or store shared layouts. Anyone who has the link can open the layout, so only share it with people you trust and avoid personal details in item names.
Exports and imports
PNG images and JSON files are created in your browser and saved to your device. Imported files are read in your browser and checked before use; they are not uploaded.
Hosting and server logs
The site is served by a static hosting provider. Like any website, the host processes technical information such as IP addresses and request details to deliver pages and protect against abuse. FestivalPlot does not use this information to identify visitors.
Analytics
FestivalPlot does not currently run analytics scripts. If privacy-focused, cookie-free visit statistics are added later, this page will be updated first to say what is measured. Layout contents will not be collected.
Children
FestivalPlot is a general-audience planning tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
